New Ram 1500 EV In 2024

2024 Ram 1500 EV

The future Ram 1500 takes life by the string rather than the horns. This concept truck is a sneak peek of an entirely new generation Ram pickup, following the enthusiasm of already available full-size EV trucks like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T. The Ram 1500 EV has a tough body-on-frame chassis, and it is pinstriped with enough LED lights to cover a short runway. This makes it similar to its future EV rivals. The Ram 1500 EV promises to have lots of passenger space in concept form, with adjustable seats providing enough for a foldable third row. We'll have to wait and see if the pickup truck first truly enters manufacturing.

What's New for 2024?

The first Ram pickup truck to run solely on electricity will be the brand-new 2024 Ram 1500 EV.

Ram has not disclosed the price, available trim levels, or basic and optional equipment for the 2024 Ram 1500 EV. We'd predict that the electric Ram 1500 will launch with a comparable starting price based on the current starting price of the F-150 Lightning, which is approximately $58,000. Furthermore, the top Ram EVs will undoubtedly reflect those prices considering the high MSRPs of the Lightning's highest trim levels.

EV Performance, Power, and Engine

Ram has said that the 1500 EV will include all-wheel drive with motors situated at the front and rear of the truck, albeit it is still too early to provide a detailed breakdown of powertrain options and total horsepower output. Ram has also stated that the truck's new chassis is designed to support greater capacity batteries, providing a hint toward a portfolio that will likely include models ranging in price from more inexpensive to expensive, with total power and maximum range being the targets. We hypothesize that the Ram 1500 EV must surpass the maximum 580 horsepower of the Ford F-series in order to surpass the maximum 10,000 towing capability of the Ford F-150 Lightning. The Ram 1500 EV will have four-wheel steering for more precise turns in the open air, at least in dual-motor configuration.

Capacity for Towing and Payload

The maximum towing capacity for the Ram 1500 EV was not specified by Ram, and cargo potential was not indicated at all. The manufacturer says that its all-electric pickup truck will have greater pulling power than its EV rivals. Expect the Ram's maximum towing capacity to be greater than the stated 10,000-pound limit for the F-150 Lightning at this time.

Battery Last, Charging, and Scope

Ram has stated that the half-ton Ram EV will have a driving range of up to 500 miles, however we are unaware of any specifics regarding the battery size or recharging periods. The longest-range F-150 Lightning is now expected to travel 200 miles less than that. Ram claims that the electric truck can add up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes using 800-volt DC rapid charging at up to 350 kW, at least in concept form.

Cargo, Convenience, and the Interior

Long before the switch to battery power, the gas-powered Ram featured a plush interior with superior materials that bested those of its rivals, and we don't think that will change. The fully-electric Ram 1500 claims to provide ingenious methods to boost storage for cowboys and contractors as it lacks an engine under the hood and other large powertrain components. With the concept, things up to 18 feet long can fit from the bed to the frunk thanks to configurable seating and storage spaces. The full-size pickup is simple to use and enter and exit thanks to its motorized frunk, side stairs, and rear tailgate. The idea also features a larger Ram Box with a multipurpose tailgate, which is expected to be added to the list of features for the actual pickup. The cab of the concept truck is 4.0 inches longer than the crew cab of the existing Ram 1500, and it also has a set of jump seats that can be used to make a third row.
